Composite geogrid is a geogrid made of two or more different materials. It usually combines high-strength fiber materials with plastic grids to give full play to the advantages of different materials and improve the performance of geogrids. It is used between the road base and surface layer to enhance the bearing capacity of the road surface and reduce cracks and deformation of the road surface.
Polyester fiber has the advantages of high strength, high modulus, and good corrosion resistance. Its high strength can withstand greater tension, its high modulus makes it less deformed when subjected to force, and its good corrosion resistance allows it to be used for a long time in various harsh environments.
Steel-plastic geogrid is a geosynthetic material that is made of steel wire (or other high-strength metal wire) as the main load-bearing element and is wrapped with plastic (usually polyethylene or polypropylene) through a special process. It has extremely high tensile strength, can effectively enhance the stability of the soil, and withstand greater soil pressure and tension.
Compared with traditional bidirectional geogrids, tridirectional geogrids have higher tensile strength and stiffness in three directions (longitudinal, transverse and oblique). This unique structure enables it to better adapt to complex soil stress states and improve soil stability and bearing capacity.
